This here is one of the most successful racing cars that has ever raced in South Africa. Built by Hennie van der Linde in 1983, this stunning piece of automotive engineering has dominated the South African circuit racing scene, and now continues to do so in the ownership of Dick Sorensen, himself an accomplished racer that drove a variety of Datsuns back in the 70’s and 80’s, one of them posted earlier here, and his son Richard.
I have been meaning to put this post together for the last 10 days, but have not had much time to be able to do so.
Even just keeping the blog up to date has been going pretty badly thanks to the outrageous amount of overtime I have been working sine the beginning of 2013… Hopefully I can try and turn things around a bit and get more Datsun awesomeness up here for you guys!
So without further adieu, have a look at some of the photos I took of my first ever motorsport event with my new DSLR… Enjoy it, and feel free to comment below, I love to hear your thoughts and opinions! 🙂
So this past weekend saw the final round of our local South African Historic racing series take place at Zwartkops Raceway. What made this special was the fact that I would be personally meeting the owners of these two Fairlady Z’s, ones of only a handful in the country… The father and son team of Mr Sophos Pantazis and Mr Phillip Pantazis.
