This car is currently the most amazing Datsun that currently resides in South Africa, and the fact that it gets shared with everyone out on the race tracks makes it even more awesome! Built by the father and son team that were featured here last year in this post, this car has exceeded my expectations through and through! 😀
This is just an overview of the car, as I plan on doing a more in-depth article on it in the near future…
When I first laid my eyes on her at 07:00am on race day, I immediately fell in love with her. To call this car good-looking is just criminal… She is downright sexy! Just look at those curves!!
This is definitely a view I could not grow tired of looking at… Mr Sharp sure did know how make a good-looking car look achingly stunning…
One aspect of the car that impresses me the most is the sheer size of tyre that you are able to stuff underneath those huge rear flares… Just look at the dish on those wheels!
Naturally, when one owns and races a car that looks this good, you are bound to draw some attention to yourself… 🙂

Words cannot describe this car… Honestly…
Out on the track the car transforms into a purposeful beast, hunkering down to the tarmac and emitting a noise from its L28 that only a true Datsun enthusiast will remember for days afterwards… Makes me happy to see that the Datsun name is proudly displayed front and rear for all to see!
This the view that most competitors had to look at for the day… And what a view it is! Just look at the width of the rubber that Phillip has at his disposal… Apparently makes for quite a different drive compared to his white car that ran 225/50R15 Semi slicks… 😀
To end off this post, here is Phillip hot on the heels of a very quick Ford Mk2 Escort, and of course Mr Richard Sorenson and his Skyline… Must be great to drive a car of this nature out on the race track…
My sincerest thanks go out to Phillip and his father, Sophos, for bringing such a brilliant piece of Datsun history to life here in my own backyard… It is the stuff that dreams are made of, and I am glad to know that there are other people here in South Africa that are just as passionate as I am about the Datsun brand and its illustrious history…
